EDMODO

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog.
Today, I’ll tell you about another app that will help you in your teaching or learning career. Edmodo!

Edmodo is an educational technology company offering a communication, collaboration, and coaching platform to students and teachers. When I started my education in the university , one of our teacher wanted from us to download this app and join in his class. Since then, we’re using it very frequently. So as you can understand, teachers can open classes on this platform as well as giving assignments, grading them, sharing content and useful documents, communicating with students etc.

As teachers , after we create a class , our students will be able to join with a code which will be told by us. Students can join as many classes as they need in this app! And when they finally join , options like ‘posts, folders, members, small groups ‘ will be seen on the top.  Teachers may share useful informations , videos , announcements or anything related to the lesson on posts part! And then in folders, they can add weekly slides, again videos , any document to be used in the class! Just like our teachers do!

One of the advantages of Edmodo is that teachers can assign their students on this platform easily with grading and evaluating the assignment. In that way students are being able to get feedbacks about the works they’ve done! A teacher can also add the due to an assignment, after this due it won’t be possible for students to do their homeworks! So in short, they should pay attention to the homeworks. :)

Thanks to Edmodo, students may also reach out to their teachers and ask anything related to their lesson, as well! This feature of the app creates a definitely communicative environment! For example , I asked a few questions to my teachers and got my answers pretty quickly and it was so helpful!

Parents also stay in touch with teachers and the class of their child easily. There’s a parent code of every student on edmodo and by creating a parents account and using the code of their child, parents can be informed about their children! To learn about the student’s performance parents can be in contact with teachers. I bet a student who knows that s/he is being followed by their parents on this app, will be so much more attentive!

There’s educational games on the discovery section that teachers can play with students! It’s known that some of the games make learning fun and entertaining!

Long story short, in these days of quarantine because of corona virus , we can see that internet and ‘web 2.0 tools’ is being very very helpful about education! Edmodo is one of these tools and creates a real class environment with lots of the great features i just told y’all!

Have a healthy and great day! <3

ANIMATIONS IN EDUCATION

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my blog. Here i am with a new suggestion for teachers! This one can be very effective if you use it properly. I’m talking about animations! There are lots of animation apps on both ios and android. For example, Animato, Toontastic, Animaker etc... Since these are both visual and audial aids , it can be very very useful in education. You can use many fun colors, characters, lots of different settings to teach your topic! In my animation, i’ve looked into the curriculum that are shared by the ‘Board of Education and Discipline’. I’ve seen that in the 8th week of 3th grade students the topic was Transportation Vehicles. And i thought that it could be a nice animation if i teach the vehicles and question types which were stated in the curriculum.
So, I downloaded the Toontastic 3D. It is free and easy to use! (Well, if you try to draw your own background, it may be a little difficult and take time, but still , it is very user friendly!)
I planned my script with all of the characters and settings. Then , I draw my backgrounds and some of the vehicles! It took a little time since it was my first one! But finally they were done! Then, with the great help of my siblings i directed my short and pretty amateur animation! :D  We tried to be as informative and understandable as possible. And the outcome was this.
I hope you like it and use it for your students in the future! <3
I mean the animation app , not my amateur video :)) Well if you like it , of course you can. :) Anyways! Enjoy! :
