Today, I would like present 3 very beneficial platforms that may help both teachers and students in their education life and educational activities/exercises. 2 of them focuses on interactively processing classes while the other focuses on preparing relevant and useful mind maps which will help students learn/ comprehend the topics of the day or week! Let’s look at them in detail:
NEARPOD
This platform help teachers download and create many interactive classes which can be available on any device and browser. They can add their presentation slides (PowerPoint presentations ) , PDF or resources with sharing their students in the interactive lessons. Thanks to this platform, teachers can also use many ‘activities’ to make the learnings more permanent and surely to evaluate students like quizzes, fill in the blanks, draw it, open ended questions etcetera. A great opportunity that Nearpod provides is that with the help of VR students can see anywhere and observe anything that are related to their lessons!
Students can complete lessons that are prepared for them individually as well! Meanwhile, teachers can access their students’ performances, give feedbacks, evaluate them to learn how much they understood the lessons and progress based on these informations! Nearpod also provides numerous books on every subject within itself. In brief, with the help Nearpod, students and teachers can engage in their own lessons, learners may have individual/personal classes and benefit from technology in the best way!
This is a completely free platform that helps students watch and interact with the videos that are taken from YouTube, another teachers or just you! You can use quizzes to evaluate your students learnings, get reports that presents their performances in this platform as well! Students might listen to your lessons in here and understand them better by doing this again and again which helps you save time in the school environment!
MINDMEISTER
Mindmeister is a tool for teachers to easily create understandable, useful and informative mind maps for students! It’s not completely free but is actually affordable. While creating your maps, you can use photos, many linkers(connectors) ,colors, descriptions and any kind of mark which might make the diagrams fun, esthetic and efficient! Here’s an example of my mind maps that I’ve created with the help of MindMeister:
